I would not have done it without all of your support. How you would always check up on me and make sure that everything was ok and making sure that I got the help I needed. What you guys have here is the best company that my family and I have ever come across, and I hope for the best in the future.

I would like to personally thank you for the excellent training that my son, Andrew Jenkins, received with MasterDrive. I have been told by others that MasterDrive was the superior Driver’s Training Course in town, and I would be pleased with the skills, attitude, academics and commitment to excellence I would find there. I found all of the to be quite true, and even more so than I expected.
I was impressed with your skills course, both academic and hands-on skills, which I experienced when I rode in the car on the course with my son. His composure and confidence were remarkable in comparison to my own or anyone else’s at that age. When he drove with me on a day to day basis, he demonstrated an acute awareness of what was going on around the car, with respect to traffic, and inside the car, with respect to the mechanics of passengers, mirrors, blind spots, engine noises, etc. I still did not know, however, how soon and how critical his training would become.
Andrew passed his driver’s test on his first attempt, and being a normal teenager, he borrowed my car to visit a friend three hours after he received his license. He was driving north on Highway 83 and intended to turn left at Northgate Road. He had been followed by a delivery truck for some time and the truck was riding very close to the back of Andrew, urging him to increase his speed. Andrew maintained his composure and made sure to signal for his intended left turn earlier than he was legally required to, and then waited for an opening in oncoming traffic to make his turn. As he had been told by you, MasterDrive, he did not cock his wheels or begin turning at all, but remained stopped with the wheels pointed forward. Meanwhile the driver of the delivery truck had taken his eyes off the road for a minute and when he looked back up, Andrew had stopped. The driver hit his brakes and skidded into Andrew and pushed his car forward. Because of your training, Andrew never entered the lane for oncoming traffic and this remained an accident, rather than a tragedy.
As a mother I want to thank you for the care you have taken with my son’s life. As a driver, I would like to thank you for putting more skills instead of danger on the road. As both, I would like to thank you for the work you do, and how seriously you take this business of teaching our young people how to drive responsibly and keeping them, and us, alive.

MasterDrive, you helped me avoid an accident.
One Friday night I was driving home from a school basketball game. I was on the freeway just before the Junipero Serra exit. There was construction in the carpool, #1 and #2 lanes, and being in the #1 lane, I tried to merge to the right a few lanes. Traffic got really heavy and I checked for traffic over my right shoulder (I should have slowed down). When I looked back, traffic in front of me had stopped and I was still going about 35/40 with only 10 or 15 feet between me and the car in front of me. When I realized I was going to crash, I swerved to the right and avoided running head-on into the SUV in front of me. The “Brake and Turn” technique that I learned from Master Drive helped me to attain this.

Thank you so much for inviting me to your May 5th Adult Skills Clinic, and for the outstanding care and attention you gave me throughout the entire day. I know I don’t have to tell you what a positive experience it was for me or how much more confident I felt driving home that evening. In fact, on my way south on the 5, just after leaving the clinic, a crazy driver cut into my lane too closely and probably would’ve hit me…except almost unconsciously I exercised the crash avoidance maneuver we practiced using the lights and steered without panicking or braking into the next lane which was fortunately clear. Even more amazing, afterwards I didn’t get that shaky feeling, and only felt angry at the inattention of the other driver, but certainly proud of myself.
I do feel much more confident on the road and everyday continue to practice the simple things like turning the wheel properly and not letting it slide through my hands.
At some point, I’m sure I will do a refresher course, especially because there are so few places and opportunities to practice my new skills. Again, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your program, your experience, and your expertise with me. What scares me now is only thinking about all the longtime drivers out there who haven’t been to MasterDrive and have no idea how much they are doing wrong. Thank you for preparing me to better deal with them if it ever becomes necessary.

My husband and I always knew that our son would go through the MasterDrive program before he began to drive. We had heard a lot about the program and did not even check other programs. We felt this program would make him a safer driver. Alex finished his last on-street driving last Sunday and received his license on March 27.
There is no way I could ever have known how quickly he would need the skills he learned from you. His very first time driving solo and he could have been seriously injured or even killed. He was driving west on Lake Avenue at approximately 40 mph and a large truck neglected to stop for a stop sign and turned left to go eastbound on Lake right in front of Alex. Alex said there was no way he could have stopped before hitting the vehicle. He swerved to the right of the vehicle to the shoulder of the road, avoiding a serious accident.
When your organization had all the kids bring their own vehicles to the track for 2 days, I thought it was more just a couple of days for the kids to skid around cones, scare the heck out of their parents, and learn a little. I now realize that it was in large part due to the training that Alex was able to avoid this accident.
I thought I would take a moment to let you know just how valuable that training was to Alex yesterday, and to say thanks for offering such an outstanding training program.

MasterDrive saved my life. I was driving down Research Parkway towards a friend’s house. When I crested a hill there was another car coming straight at me, with a median at my left and another car at my right. I was still able to avoid a head-on collision. I braked and turned right, missing the oncoming vehicle by a foot. If I hadn’t learned the MasterDrive technique, I would have been injured and possibly killed the people in the other car since I was in the larger vehicle.

Dear Master Drive,
I’m writing to share a personal story in regard to how valuable your program has been to us.
My daughter, Anne, was enrolled in the defensive driving portion of your program last June. After completing that phase we took a road trip to Chicago. I thought that driving the flat straight non-congested I-80 would be an opportunity to drive the expressway without the added challenges that I-25 has to offer. The following story is not an exaggeration and in my opinion we owe our lives to you and the invaluablae skills that Master Drive taught my daughter.
Anne drove in 30 minute increments. The first time she was to merge onto the expressway a small sports car forced Anne to swerve to the shoulder just as she was coming from the entrance ramp and about to merge onto the expressway. The driver was in the outside lane when I took note of him and swerved into the far left lane as Anne had reached the end of the entrance ramp. She had accelerated to the 75 mph speed limit when I noticed the other car in her blind spot. I called out to watch it and she swerved onto the shoulder and back onto the road without missing a beat — just like you taught her, no panic, just good defense. By the way, the other car was driving so fast that it was out of sight in no time.
The second 30 minutes of driving on I-80 brought another potential tragedy that Anne handled with skill. We were about a hundred yards behind a semi-truck when it had a blow-out and spread tread all over the expressway. Anne swerved around and in-between the mess without panic and keeping control of our minivan.
The third time behind the wheel she was coming to a slight rise and a man waving his arms out of the middle of the road. She slowed our car in time, which was not an easy thing to do after traveling at 75 mph. We came up to an accident where one vehicle had rolled over and was taking up the outside lane. We saw the emergency vehicles coming toward us and had to wait for the police to allow traffic to continue.
I’ve been a licensed driver for many years and have yet to face what this 15 year old faced in a succession that day. I am convinced that your program saved our lives by teaching Anne how to handle our car in a defensive driving scenario. Thank you for your wonderful program. It was time and money well spent.
