Instruction for Special Needs

We serve many ability levels

Specialized Training for Unique Needs

We understand that some students may need more specialized instruction to be a successful, safe driver.  For over 20 years, the experts at MasterDrive have been providing workshops and training for driving rehabilitation specialists all over the US and Canada. We continue to be a leader in developing safe driving strategies for people with diverse abilities.

 What To Expect

The first step begins with an analysis of a potential student’s history, background, and specific functional and cognitive challenges. Reviewing this information helps us to determine whether we need to conduct an assessment. It may be necessary to have a more thorough strategy session where you and the team can ask each other questions. At this stage, we are working to determine if becoming a driver is appropriate.

Once that is established, the next step is for us to develop a step-by-step training process. This is customized and focused on the student’s specific functional and processing challenges. However, it may evolve at each step as the student goes through the training as sometimes new needs are uncovered. At this time, we also determine how we are going to measure the improvements needed for the student to reach the goals of training.

This information is shared with the student, and their family if needed, and they have an opportunity to ask and answer questions with our team.

Getting Behind the Wheel

Finally, the student begins training with our experts according to the timeline and steps we’ve discussed in the strategy session.

There is a fee for each step from our review, to an assessment or strategy session, to developing and delivering the customized training solution. We separate payment for each step because not all potential students are able to move forward after the initial assessment. However, most do!

Two of our three children have taken drivers training through Masterdrive so far. Our first daughter is an excellent, confident driver and we attribute much of that to the training she received from the team at Masterdrive.

Our second daughter has some learning challenges that made driving more difficult for her. Not only did the team at Masterdrive provide additional support and coaching for our daughter, they worked to identify personalized, creative solutions and helped us learn how to support her best as well. Between her Masterdrive team and home team, our second daughter has learned to be comfortable and confident behind the wheel. We believe that without their genuine care and support, our daughter would have continued to struggle.

We cannot thank Cindy, Janet and Ronn enough. It is apparent that this is so much more than a job to them, they see each the kids as a part of their Masterdrive family.

We look forward to seeing them again next year with our third child!
