Lesson 8

focus

Lesson 8

We all know how important focus is while driving, or in sports, or actually with everything we do.  Right?  And yet we cannot develop the ability to focus or concentrate on something by someone telling us to focus.

If we look at focus as whatever information I am putting into my brain.  That can be visual, auditory, or even just thinking about something.  Whatever you put into your brain WILL be processed.  Your brain is unable to prevent itself from thinking about something.

Focus while driving is a result of programming the brain to seek specific information and potential situations.  A new driver develops this programming by repetitions of practicing driving into intersections, other cars, people that are coming into our environment.  It needs to be developed to the subconscious level and is not learned by lecture, but by practicing focus.
