Expanded Driver Awareness Program

State of Colorado Approved

Improve Driving Skills and Confidence

Our Expanded Driver Awareness Program is a Colorado DMV approved option to meet the classroom requirement to get a driver’s permit if your teen is between 15 ½ and 16 years old. The student must be at least 15 ½ but not yet 18 at the time of the class and is for new drivers only.

UPDATE- Starting April 1, 2026, Colorado will require:

  • All drivers under age 18 to complete a 30-hour driver education course before obtaining a learner’s permit.
  • Drivers ages 18 to 21 to complete either the 30-hour course or a 4-hour Driver Awareness Program before obtaining a permit or license.

Our 4-hour course covers defensive driving strategies and walks students through decision-making and safety scenarios using interactive tools and techniques.  This class is a live, instructor-led course that students can join remotely from home on a computer, tablet or smartphone.

Our next virtual classes will be held on
