Lesson 10

As your teen comes of age to get a driver’s license, you need to ask yourself a very serious question. . .

Is he/she really ready to drive? 

Some additional questions to help you determine the answer include:

• Does she have the skills to react to and control the specific vehicle they will be driving?
• Does he understand that his decisions behind the wheel can place the family at substantial risk?
• Have we defined a path and expectation for him/her to receive more driving privileges?
• Have we discussed and signed a contract with our teen?
• As parents, do we trust him/her to follow the provisions of the contract?
