Lesson 3

Aim high vision

Lesson 3

The development of visual processing and good visual habits are a critical part of becoming a good driver.  However, most people do not really think about it.  There is a tendency to believe that if everyone can ‘see’ that wall over there, that they can ‘see’.  But visual information is about noticing where things are and my relationship to them in a constantly changing and dynamic environment.

Many young people today have some difficulty with visual-spatial awareness, visual tracking, peripheral vision, distance, and closure speed.  A young driver needs to develop good visual habits of where and how to look and be aware of what other cars are around them are doing, what to look for when entering an intersection, and focusing upon the right things.

The video lesson on Aim High Vision is something every parent needs to focus on.  The quality of visual information coming into the brain is critical.
